How Repaglinide and Metformin Work Repaglinide and metformin work together to manage blood sugar levels. Repaglinide is a meglitinide analogue that stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin, helping to prevent significant spikes in blood glucose after meals. Metformin is a biguanide that reduces the production and absorption of sugar in the body while enhancing the effectiveness of existing insulin. Together, they offer improved control of blood sugar levels.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Repaglinide and Metformin include diarrhea, headache, nausea, hypoglycemia (low blood glucose level), upper respiratory tract infection, abdominal pain, and flatulence.

  • You should continue to:
    • Exercise regularly
    • Eat a healthy diet
    • Take your other diabetes medicines (if prescribed) along with Repaglinide + Metformin
