How Clobetasol, Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, and Urea work Clobetasol, Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, and Urea is a combination of four medicines used to treat eczema and psoriasis. Clobetasol is a steroid medicine that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) responsible for making the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, and Urea are keratolytic agents that break down keratin clumps, remove dead skin cells, and soften the skin. They also enhance the absorption of Clobetasol into the skin.
