How Sulphacetamide and Chlorpheniramine Maleate work Sulphacetamide and Chlorpheniramine Maleate is a combination of two medicines: Sulfacetamide and Chlorpheniramine. Sulfacetamide is an antibiotic that inhibits bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient essential for bacterial replication. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that blocks the action of specific chemical messengers responsible for red, itchy, and teary eyes.

- Apply pressure to the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
- If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before applying these eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting your lenses.
- Wait at least 5-10 minutes before administering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
- A burning sensation may occur for 1-2 minutes; notify your doctor if it persists for longer.
